For more than 25 years, Cleveland native David Strieter has been working in the field of music in several different venues. He began his piano studies at age 6 and has studied with some of Cleveland’s finest instructors, such as Nancy Stoking at The Cleveland Music School Settlement, Marilyn Monte at The Cleveland Institute of Music, privately with Martha Slunjski from Zagreb Music Conservatory, and with Joe Howard at Tri-C focusing on jazz improvisation. A special acknowledgement goes to Lydia Strieter, his aunt & first teacher who fostered a flame of passion and persistence for his music that burns brightly to this day.
David is currently the Director of Music at Hope Christian Church in Avon, Ohio. Previous church music experience includes Director of Contemporary Worship at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, accompanying/orchestrating for the Promise Choir at Bay Presbyterian Church and Praise Band, Exaltation. Asst. Director of Contemporary Music at St. Paul Lutheran; Contemporary Music Director, St. James Lutheran; and various special music at Cleveland area churches over the last twenty plus years.
In addition to Christian music, he is also the keyboard player for the Neil ZsaZsa Band, and previously played for Time Warp (classic rock) and Razzmatazz (wedding band). He has also been the accompanist for many theatrical productions, including Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific, and Brigadoon.
